The mentally ill homeless in NeW YoRk have been neglected

 

New York is a beautiful place, with a strong issue that help has been neglected. New York is a place where Funds are key, where you can’t even use the bathroom without buying something. Homeless people are mainly being often neglected, seen as inhumane, seen as monsters, dirty, and more derogatory terms. This really does affect many homeless people in New York, who have to deal with it on a daily basis, being looked at, pushed out of every place they are, hated, and made fun of at times. Going to college in the morning on 125th street, there are a bunch of people, but most who stand out and are looking at the homeless because there are a lot of them near the 6-train station. Some are on the ground passed out, some ask for money, and some are doing drugs and looking for food. Looking lost. Many have asked me for money, and some I can, and sometimes I don’t, but they are looking for a sense of help and hope in their situation, which they need help in finding a home. Many are battling with their mind because they have no one to talk to or are emotionally scared, no one by their side, begging or fighting for food, making it their mission to survive. Increasingly I see homeless people, and it’s growing on a daily basis. In New York, the mentally ill homeless are being neglected because the government’s support is limited or doesn’t help, the mental Asylum hasn’t helped them, and doctors can’t help them if they don’t have insurance; they can’t be helped. The mentally ill homeless in New York have been neglected and can’t find shelter or employment because of how they look, smell, or lack shelter, which having mental illness is frowned upon, and makes their journey to find stability harder and to feel human once again.

 

New York is my home, A place where there are so many people and so much diversity, and a place where help is really rare. The mentally homeless deal with a lot of factors on a day-to-day basis that will affect their mental state. He explains how the social situation that the mentally ill homeless deal with affects their mental health negatively, and the result of this hinders their ability to get Housing and the right mental illness services that can help them survive or even just enjoy life.  Getting a job in New York is hard in general but having a mentail illness, and being homeless is way more difficult because everyone has a certain stereotype of who a person is by them being homeless and with a mental health problem someone’s first thought wouldn’t be they will do well with this Job, It would be they don’t have a home and have a mental illness they can function or do something right.
